Workshop: My Microbes and Me, in Sickness and in Health

Published: 02 October, 2020

Microbiomes are the communities of microscopic organisms that live in and on our bodies. They can be nurtured through daily lifestyle choices such as the consumption of probiotics, prebiotics and antibiotics, and these may have an impact on how we mature and age gracefully.

This one-day introductory course will cover topics such as the importance of microbiomes in human development and disease, the principles of microbiome sequencing, the effects of probiotics, prebiotics and antibiotics, microbiome research projects in our local biomedical and clinical research laboratories, the influence of skin microbiomes on beauty and home hygiene and many more.

Interested participants are to register for only one course date.
