For direct admission to the PhD programme:
As the medium of instruction is English, applicants whose native tongue AND medium of university instruction is not English should submit the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) as evidence of their proficiency in the English Language. Exemptions will be given to applicants with distinctions in the Cambridge GCE ‘O’ level examination English Language Paper 1119. The minimum TOEFL score required is 580/237/85 for the paper-based, computer-based and internet-based tests respectively.
For IELTS, the minimum score required is 6.
Please note that the TOEFL/IELTS scores are valid for two years from the test date. If it has been more than two years since you last took the test, you must take it again to have the scores reported.
Applicants (except NUS and NTU graduates from relevant disciplines) must also submit GRE scores to support their application. The minimum total GRE score of 320 for both the Verbal & Quantitative sections and 3.5 for the Analytical section are required.
Please note that the GRE scores are valid for 5 years from the test date.
Applicants are required to submit their application online via the Graduate Admission System at https://inetapps.nus.edu.sg/GDA2/Home.aspx. An application fee of S$50.00 is payable by e-payment through the Graduate Admission System.
After online submission, please print and submit a hardcopy of the online application together with the supporting documents by surface mail to reach the following by the closing date.

There are two intakes per academic year, one in August and the other in January. All applications must reach the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies by 15 November (of the previous year) for the August intake, and by 15 May (of the previous year) for the January intake.
Example:
For August 2018 intake, applications must reach us by 15 November 2017
For January 2019 intake, applications must reach us by 15 May 2018
All shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview. Selection of applicants will be based upon commitment to higher degree studies, area of research interest and academic merit.
IMPORTANT: The University has not engaged any external agencies to undertake graduate student recruitment on its behalf. Candidates interested in our graduate programmes are advised to apply directly to the University and not through any agents. Candidates who apply through agents will not have any added advantage in gaining admission. Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies reserves the right to reject applications without giving reasons.
