Applicants presenting an acceptable Diploma from a Polytechnic in Singapore can apply. Candidates who are holders of some specified diplomas obtained not more than 5 years ago may be granted Advanced Placement Credits (APC) for the BSc (Nursing) programme.

The Bachelor of Science (Nursing) is a 3-year full-time programme. Students who have performed well throughout the programme would be offered the opportunity to proceed to the Honours year leading to the award of Bachelor of Science (Nursing)(Honours).

Yes. Diploma graduates from a polytechnic in Singapore can apply to NUS Nursing. It does not have to be a Nursing diploma. Over the years, we have admitted many students who have graduated with a non-nursing discipline from a local polytechnic. Advanced Placement Credits (APC) may be granted to certain diplomas. The extent of advanced standing for diploma holders from a local polytechnic will be reviewed and granted in accordance with NUS rules and regulations.

Our programme plans to develop nursing leader for the future. It has a strong emphasis on critical thinking, health and physical assessment, pharmacology, psychology and sociology. Students can take elective modules outside of Nursing. The honours year gives students the opportunity to conduct research.
Students are required to undergo compulsory clinical postings as part of the programme requirement. The student’s choice of hospital postings will be taken into consideration.
Classes on academic modules will be conducted in NUS campus and the clinical modules will be conducted in the various healthcare institutions in Singapore or NUS Centre for Healthcare Simulation.
The NUS BSc (Nursing) degree is a programme that meets international standards. Graduates who want to do their Master’s and PhD studies overseas will need to fulfil the admission requirements of the respective universities.
