The Annual Teaching Excellence Award identifies teachers who qualify as educators, who facilitate learning that is of value even outside the boundaries of their specific disciplines and professions. Such teachers help learners to acquire not only discipline- or profession-specific knowledge and abilities, but also the ideas, mental capacities, mindsets and habits we expect every university graduate to have, regardless of their areas of specialisation.
The University Awards honour and recognise members of the NUS community who through their consistently high performance and resolute commitment set new benchmarks in the areas of education, research and service. The Outstanding Educator Award (OEA) is given out annually to acknowledge faculty members who have excelled in engaging and inspiring students in their discovery of knowledge.
